Pat articulates his ministry calling as...

Multiplying Christ-centered disciples by preaching the Word, loving people, equipping the saints, strengthening families, and reaching the lost.

Pat's life verse is...

"PREACH THE WORD; BE READY IN SEASON AND OUT OF SEASON; REBUKE, CORRECT, AND ENCOURAGE WITH GREAT PATIENCE AND TEACHING." 2 Timothy 4:2 CSB

Bio

Pat grew up attending church but did not “own” his Christian faith until college. By God’s grace, Pat realized the immense difference between knowing truths about Jesus and trusting in Jesus. In that life-changing season, Pat sensed God calling him to ministry in the local church and surrendered.

In May 2004, Pat graduated from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri with a Bachelor of Arts in Church Ministry (Pastoral Ministry Concentration). He and his wife Becca were married in July 2004. As newlyweds, they moved to Mountain Grove, Missouri where Pat served as the Associate Pastor of First Baptist Church with responsibilities over the youth and worship ministries.

Desiring to be best prepared for a lifetime of ministry, the Findleys moved to Fort Worth in July 2005 for Pat to attend Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. During that time, he served on staff at Tate Springs Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas. For two years, he was a part-time Associate Pastor of Education which allowed the Findleys to serve as summer staff with Lifeway’s CentriKid Camps. In September 2007, Tate Springs called Pat to be their full-time Student Pastor.

In December 2009, Pat graduated from Southwestern with an Advanced Masters of Divinity Degree (Preaching Concentration) and was called to be the Senior Pastor at Hamlin Baptist Church in Springfield, Missouri. Pat helped Hamlin develop new initiatives for re-engaging the inner-city neighborhood around the church. He also assembled a Vision Team and led the early stages of a church revisioning process.

Pat was called as the Student Pastor at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Springfield, Missouri in April 2015. In the fall of 2016, he was entrusted with the Executive Team role of Next Generations Pastor. Pat oversaw the preschool, children, teen, and family development ministries in developing a comprehensive plan for making Christ-centered disciples of the whole family. He was the primary preacher for the Student Ministry and a part of the Sunday morning preaching rotation in the main church worship services.

In May 2018, Pat graduated from Southwestern Seminary with a Doctorate of Ministry in Expository Preaching. He knows to the depths of His soul that in preaching the Word, he is fulfilling the primary purpose for which God called him to ministry in the local church. 1924 Olympian Eric Liddell said that when running he sensed God's pleasure. That is how preaching is for Pat.

Under Pat’s leadership, ISBC strategically went from two locations back to one campus making the former campus available to a growing sister church in Kingsport. For more on the incredible story of how God worked all of that together for His glory, check out this article from the Times News in Kingsport, TN.

In July 2021, Pat was called as the Spiritual Development Pastor at First Baptist Church, Broken Arrow, OK. Pat serves on the Lead Team and oversees the various adult discipleship ministries (Sunday School/Small Groups, sermon-aligned Curriculum Creation Team, 365 Groups, Parent/Grandparent Equipping Ministry, Men’s and Women’s Ministries, College, Singles, Senior Adults, Celebrate Recovery, Re|Engage/Marriage Ministry, Grief Share, etc).

In September 2022, First Baptist Broken Arrow launched a discipleship initiative called “365.” A 365 is a small, gender-specific group of 3-5 men or women who commit to a 9-month journey together of Bible reading, prayer, encouragement, and grace-oriented accountability. Pat led the creation and implementation of the 365 process including the development of a 250-page 365 Journal specific to FBCBA’s Discipleship Pathway. The fall semester of 2022 at FBCBA included the launch of over thirty 365s.

In January 2023, Pat was called as the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church in Clinton, MO. Since coming to FBC, God has moved mightily. The church has grown considerably numerically. This has led to some Sunday structure changes, first from two worship services with one Sunday school time to two, and now to three worship services with three concurrent times of Sunday School.

Pat has also led FBC Clinton through a re-visioning and re-launch of the ActsOne8 missions mobilization, which has led to both an increase in international missions and greater engagement on the local level.

Pat’s heart for discipleship has also been seen in him bringing greater clarity to how FBC is seeking to fulfill her mission of multiplying disciples by loving people into a growing relationship with Jesus. FBC defines its goal in “making multiplying disciples” as a four-chamber “Disciple’s Heart” (see image below). This fresh vision for discipleship has brought about a greater level of clarity and alignment to the many incredible ministries FBC Clinton has done well for many years.

While Pat’s greatest ministry passion is serving the local church, he and his family also love missions (local, national, international—anywhere) and take every opportunity they can to be a part of what God is doing locally and around the world. Over the years, they witnessed God moving mightily in Honduras, Jamaica, Nepal, and El Salvador.

Back in high school, Pat’s wife Becca, sensed God’s calling on her life to ministry/missions. Pat says he didn’t realize back when they were married how special it is to have a spouse who fully shares a specific calling to ministry! Becca loves to serve others and can often be found finding ways to use her gift of hospitality to help people feel welcomed and valued. At First Baptist Clinton, Becca serves on the ActsOne8 Team recruiting, training, and mobilizing mission teams.

As far as hobbies, Pat enjoys playing music (guitar, mandolin, harmonica, hand drum), reading books, playing board games, being outside, and watching football, basketball, and NASCAR.

By design, the majority of Pat’s ministry time is centered around First Baptist Clinton, MO, but he often has opportunities to preach a week of camp during the summer or serve churches in other ways through events, revivals, and weekend retreats.
